Barn Burning began in 2001.

To date Barn Burning has played over 300 shows spanning 35 states throughout the U.S. and also into Canada with very little help, doing their own booking and promotion.

Past shows have included performances with such notables as:
Magnolia Electric Co., Caitlin Cary, Richard Buckner, Crooked Fingers, Andrew Bird, Drag the River, Anders Parker, Pinetop Seven, Slobberbone, Centro-Matic, Two Dollar Pistols, Clem Snide, Cub Country, Ester Drang, Okkervil River, Mick Turner, Neva Dinova, Mayday, Statistics, Early Day Miners, The Willard Grant Conspiracy, Josh Ritter, Milkweed, Gloria Deluxe and Spokane.
